Past is crucial to learn from, remember the good moments giving you hope to have more good moments, but not to keep you from improving or "moving on". Definitely not. Life is a series of moments, just make sure you spend as much good moments as you can.

Oh am I a bit too cheerful today or what

sam>> we are living the present c'est pas ca le probleme.
Miss u too...tu reviens kan a paris ?

liliane>> yep past shouldn't keep us from improving, these are souvenirs depending on the memory.
Past no longer exists true and then again I'd say the same as I said to _z. :)

Good to see people in a good mood :))

M>> The past belongs to your spirit, you can't just erase it but maybe we could let the past "a sa juste place" to free the present and shape the futur in a different status than the lived past.

aren't we saying the same thing krys?

oh by the way, i think you may find this relevant. It is one of my earliest posts:

You can't forget the past, it's part of who you are, it's the thing that made you what you are today, there are so many things that people wish to forget, but you can't really do that, you just have to try and live with it, because trying to forget it makes it more painful!

_z. >> we are totally saying the same thing and I told you I agree with you.
I thought about what you said & that's why I mentionned the change in the "nomenclature".
But the bottom line is the same :)

And I liked a lot the polaroid post, so true...especially how you ended the post
"We wait in the present, which actually is the immediate past, for something from the past to appear in the near future, that is soon to become present, and then past..."

acidfog>> Noooooo nobody wants to forget the past, the thing is how to manage the future without a burdening fast :)

belated long answer:

No. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no.

Your question implies that the past you are talking about is more of an obstacle for the future. The problem is not the past, the problem is regarding the past as a weight to carry on in the present and into the future. Regardless if that's true or not, or if you have a point or not, or if the past has a good reason or not to be so present; just let it go.

Oh btw, The past isn't what happened, it's just what you remember. The future is a concept, it doesn't exist.
